EQUESTRIAN SUMMER CAMP

The Equestrian Summer School was a big hit...lots of dreams came true. Twenty three lucky kiddos spent 4 days learning the basic horse care, safety, and riding skills with 11 horses, a couple minis, and a mare and foal. Three days were spent at the Myrtle Point Fairgrounds 4-H Barn and arenas, cleaning stalls, grooming and bathing, haltering and leading, tacking them up, riding with instruction, horse scavenger hunts, and daily learning reflections were all part of the experience. The last day was spent in Bandon with a beach ride and a museum tour. A huge thanks to Ann Barker and family and Melanie Tolman and family for bringing horses, tack, instructional assistance, and expertise to this experience. A big thanks to Paula Morris for bringing the mini horse for the kids to love on too! Thank you to the Bandon Beach Stables for the enjoyable beach ride.
